Jim Dyer
Jim Dyer was Newport born and bred and had occupied a senior post in Newport Council. He wrote many published articles and was well known as a local historian particularly about maritime subjects. He travelled extensively and served periods with the UN in Cambodia and the Balkans helping with elections. Sadly he died in the summer of 2023 leaving three daughters and four grandchildren.
