Originally known as the Irish National Workmen's Club & Institute the club has been at 188 Commercial Road since the early 1920s. Previous to that the property was a Billiard Hall.

The Irish National Club has now expanded to occupy numbers 187 and 188 Commercial Rd., NP20 2PP.
