PUBLIC NOTICE 1914

Opening of the new lock entrance by HRH Prince Arthur of Connaught, Tuesday 14th July 1914. The Alexandra (Newport & South Wales) Docks and Railway hereby give notice that the ordinary work of the docks, except as thereinafter mentioned, will be suspended on Tuesday, 14th July, 1914, between the hours of 6am and 6pm.
The existing North and South Entrances will, however, be open for the locking in and out of vessels, as required.
