Frederick Phillips, Mayor of Newport 1906 - 1907

Phillips, Frederick is the fourth son of the late Mr. Thomas Phillips, and was born at Stony Stratford, Bucks., in 1857. Mr. Phillips comes from a brewing family, and, with his brother, Mr. Edward Phillips, he has for many years undertaken the joint management of the firm of Phillips and Sons Limited, brewers, of this town. He is a borough magistrate, and in the year 1893 he was first elected a member of the Town Council, and was mayor of the boroush for the year 1906-7. Is now an alderman. Office: Station street.
