The Level Crossing In Thomas Street

We think the building just beyond the tracks on the left is the Royal Oak, birthplace of John Frost. Straight ahead is the old King's Head Hotel.

This road was at one time the main route out of Newport towards the Marshes and Malpas. It was probably the site of one of the town's gates.
