View eastwards on the Down side towards the Usk Bridge and all points except west. The South Wales Pullman, which left Paddington at 08:50 and reached Swansea at 13:10, was introduced in 6/55 and ran as a steam-hauled train until 1962 but was withdrawn in 6/64. Here it is headed by Collett 'Castle' No. 5074 'Hampden' (built 7/38 as 'Denbigh Castle' (cf. No. 5049 in SU6774 : Up South Wales - Paddington express approaching Tilehurst), renamed 1/41, withdrawn in 6/64).
