Annie Jane Wilson Jones

Jones, Annie Jane Wilson was born at Newcastle-on-Tyne, and educated at Bedford College, London. Was married in 1898 to the late Alderman Thomas Jones, who was Mayor of Newport for the year 1892-3, accompanied her husband to New Zealand in 1901, where he died in 1903. In 1906 Mrs. Jones returned to Newport, and since then has interested herself in public work. She is hon. treasurer of the Newport and South Mon. Branch of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, is a director of the Royal Gwent Hospital, and is a member of the House Committee. Is president of the Newport Women's Liberal Association, and represents the Town Council on the Newport National Health Committee. Is a Congregationalist, attending Mill Street Church. Is the mother of one son and one daughter. Residence: Waikato, Fields Park Avenue. Tel. 2319.
