Left of picture we can see E.G. Nicholls - baker and confectioner - 72 Commercial Road.

The gap in the buidings just beyond the tram is where the railway crossed Commercial Road, and to the left Frederick Street and the right Albion Street. The road off to the right near the camera is Capel Street.
