Moore, William Lyndon a deputy-lieutenant for the county, is a son of the late Mr. L. B. Moore, of Newport. He was educated at Bedford, and afterwards returned to Newport as a solicitor, being subsequently appointed coroner for the Newport District. In the year 1901 he filled the presidential chair of the Newport Chamber of Commerce Incorporated. He is senior partner in the firm of Lyndon Moore & Co., solicitors, of this town, and he has been retained on behalf of the Newport public bodies to act for them in connection with the various contests in Parliament over the local railway bills, and may be regarded as one of the leading advocates of the forward policy which has become quite a necessity in the modern life of the port.
