Mayor Henry Charles Parfitt At A Newport Fairground 1918 1919

Photo kindly sent to us by Christine Loring whose husband is the grandson of Henry Parfitt.

Henry Parfitt was mayor of Newport 1918-19 so we have a clear date for this photo. Christine relates that Henry Parfitt announced the end of the First World War to the citizens of Newport.

The fair is in the Shaftesbury/Crindau area... note Lodge Hill in the background.
