The building which is now 'Ye Olde Murenger House' was then number 53 - JN Pennington confectioner and pastry cook. To the right is 54 The Tredegar Arms Hotel, then 55 CH Burcham mercer (Boodle Teeth adapters upstairs) and then 56 Newport Electric Theatre. To the left of number 53 one can just make out no 52 Joyce & Sons booksellers, stationers etc. and then Noah's Ark Corridor.
