Samuel Browning Porter died 1st March 1869 and Alfred Taylor took over the business.

We have found Samuel Porter, tailor, 32 High Street in any Slater's 1859 business directory. He is in the 1861 census as living in 32 High Street and operating his business there. In 1851 he was a draper in Wootten Bassett and he was born about 1815 in Frome, Somerset.

So this token dates to some time between 1851 and 1869.
